SISTEM KALENDER PADA MASA KERAJAAN SAMUDERA PASAI

Abstract

Calendar is one of the important needs or data in the lives of human beings from time to time, it is difficult to imagine how the management or pattern of administrative arrangements and social order if there is no system back to organizing a time agreed (calendar) unit, therefore the calendar already exists from since humans exist, it's just different shapes and types. This paper tries to explain the calendar system that was in effect during the Pasai Ocean kingdom by analyzing data from inscriptions on the tombstone of the kingdom of Pasai Ocean's historical remains that clearly written date perfectly. After doing the data processing with the approach of Islamic astronomy (astronomy), it can be concluded that the calendar system that was used during the kingdom of Samudera Pasai was the Qamariyah calendar system with the criteria of pure rukyah hilal, namely the determination at the beginning of the month based on the visibility of hilal in plain sight. the month
